FAQ

TRX Staking — Every
Question Answered

Everything you need to know about staking TRON, TRX rewards, lock periods, and using staking-tron.com safely.

TRX staking is the process of locking your TRON (TRX) tokens in a smart contract to earn passive yield rewards. On the TRON network, staking is the primary mechanism through which token holders participate in network security and earn a proportional share of block rewards issued by the TRON DPoS protocol.
TRON is a decentralized blockchain platform founded by Justin Sun in 2017, designed for high-throughput decentralized applications and digital content. TRX is TRON's native token, used to pay transaction fees (network energy and bandwidth), participate in governance by voting for Super Representatives, access smart contract execution, and earn staking rewards.
APY on Staking TRON ranges from 5% (flexible, no lock) to 20% (365-day lock). The exact yield depends on total TRX staked in the pool, your chosen lock period, and network block reward conditions. The APY calculator in the Staking widget shows you a real-time estimate based on the current TRX price fetched from CoinGecko.
Staking TRON is non-custodial — your TRX never leaves your wallet's direct control until the staking transaction is confirmed on-chain. The staking smart contracts are audited by third-party security firms and open-source on TRON Scan. There is no centralized party holding your tokens; the protocol enforces all rules in code.
The minimum stake for the flexible plan is 1 TRX. Lock plans have slightly higher minimums: 100 TRX for the 30-day plan, 500 TRX for 90 days, and 1,000 TRX for the 365-day maximum-yield plan. This keeps gas costs proportional and ensures meaningful reward accrual.
TronLink is the recommended wallet for the best TRX staking experience. Staking TRON also supports MetaMask (via TRON-compatible network configuration), Trust Wallet, WalletConnect (200+ compatible wallets), Ledger hardware wallet, and Trezor. TronLink is available as a browser extension and mobile app for both iOS and Android.
TRON uses Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS), where TRX holders freeze (lock) their tokens to gain voting rights and vote for 27 Super Representatives (SRs) who produce blocks. Each SR earns 320 TRX per block produced, which is distributed proportionally to the voters who backed that SR. staking-tron.com aggregates voting positions to maximize your TRX block reward share without requiring you to manage validator selection manually.
Freezing TRX is TRON's native on-chain mechanism where you lock TRX for 3 days via the TRON protocol to receive Energy or Bandwidth resources and voting power (TRON Power). Staking on staking-tron.com uses smart contract staking: you deposit TRX for a chosen period, the contract allocates it to optimized validator votes, and distributes rewards to you in TRX. Smart contract staking offers more flexible terms and higher yields than basic native freezing.
TRX rewards accrue every block — roughly every 3 seconds on TRON. They are credited to your staking position continuously and visible in the Rewards tab of the widget after connecting your wallet. You can claim your accumulated TRX rewards at any time with a single on-chain transaction, or enable auto-compound to have them reinvested automatically.
Flexible stakers can unstake at any time with zero penalty. For locked plans (30d / 90d / 365d), early withdrawal is possible but incurs a penalty fee that scales with how much of the lock period remains. All early-exit penalties are redistributed to remaining stakers in the same pool — they never go to the protocol or team. The exact penalty is shown in the Unstake tab before you confirm.
Auto-compound automatically re-stakes your earned TRX rewards back into your staking position every cycle, applying compound interest without manual intervention. For long-term holders, especially on the 90d or 365d plan, auto-compound can meaningfully increase total returns compared to leaving rewards idle in your wallet. It is fully optional and can be toggled on or off in the Rewards tab.
The only costs are: (1) TRON network energy/bandwidth fee for the staking transaction, typically under $0.01; and (2) the platform protocol fee, which is deducted from rewards rather than charged upfront. There is no deposit fee and no minimum holding period fee on the flexible plan. You need a small amount of TRX in your wallet for gas before staking.
No. Staking TRON is fully permissionless. You never create an account, provide an email address, upload ID documents, or complete any verification process. Connect a compatible wallet and you can stake TRX immediately. Your wallet address is your identity on the platform.
On TRON, Energy is a resource consumed by smart contract execution (similar to Ethereum gas). When you freeze TRX for Energy via the native TRON mechanism, you avoid burning TRX on smart contract calls. Staking TRON handles Energy management transparently on your behalf — you don't need to manually freeze TRX for Energy; the platform bundles it into the staking transaction to minimize your costs.
Bandwidth is the TRON resource consumed by standard token transfers (TRX sends, TRC-20 transfers). Each account gets 600 free Bandwidth points per day; larger or more frequent transactions require additional Bandwidth, which can be obtained by freezing TRX for Bandwidth. Since staking positions involve smart contracts (using Energy), Bandwidth requirements are minimal, and your daily free allocation is usually sufficient for claiming rewards.
TRON's DPoS network elects 27 Super Representatives (SRs) every 6 hours, based on TRX votes delegated by token holders. SRs produce blocks and receive 320 TRX per block in rewards, which they redistribute to their voters. Staking TRON automatically delegates your TRX votes to a curated set of top-performing SRs to maximize your reward share, without requiring you to research and select validators yourself.
TRON produces a new block every 3 seconds and handles over 2,000 transactions per second (TPS), making it one of the fastest public blockchains. This means your staking transaction confirms in seconds (not minutes), rewards accrue block by block with near-instant updates, and claiming rewards costs a negligible fee relative to other smart contract platforms like Ethereum.
There is no maximum limit on the amount of TRX you can stake via Staking TRON. Whale positions and institutional stakes are welcome. Very large stakes may experience slightly different pool dynamics as they constitute a larger share of the total pool, which the Calculator tab accounts for in its projections. All staking positions are treated equally by the smart contract, regardless of size.
During a lock period, your TRX is held in the Staking TRON smart contract and deployed as delegated votes to TRON Super Representatives to earn block rewards. The TRX is not lent to any third party, not used for trading, and not bridged off-chain. It remains on TRON at all times and can be verified by inspecting your position on TRON Scan. Rewards continue to accrue and can be claimed even while the principal is locked.
CoinGecko is one of the world's leading cryptocurrency market data providers, aggregating prices from hundreds of exchanges in real time. Staking TRON uses the CoinGecko API to display the live TRX/USD price, 24-hour change, market cap, and volume in the price bar at the top of the page. This ensures the USD value shown in the staking widget and calculator reflects true current market conditions, not stale or manipulated data.
Yes. Staking TRON is a fully responsive web application designed for desktop, tablet, and mobile. To stake TRX on mobile, open the TronLink mobile app, navigate to its built-in dApp browser, and go to staking-tron.com. The site connects to your TronLink wallet automatically. For other mobile wallets supporting TRON, use their built-in browser in the same way.
Go to the Rewards tab in the staking widget, connect your wallet, and click "Claim Rewards." Approve the transaction in TronLink and your earned TRX is transferred directly to your wallet in seconds. You may also enable auto-compound to skip manual claims entirely and reinvest rewards on every accrual cycle for maximum yield.
TRX has a total supply of approximately 87 billion tokens, with a circulating supply of roughly 86.5 billion TRX as of 2025. Unlike deflationary tokens, TRON mints a fixed reward of 320 TRX per block to incentivize Super Representatives and stakers. Transaction fees, however, burn a portion of TRX, creating a partial inflationary offset. You can verify the exact current supply on TRON Scan.
APY (Annual Percentage Yield) is calculated as the annualized return on your staked TRX, accounting for compounding. For the flexible plan, APY = base block reward share ÷ total pool × 365. For locked plans, a lock-period multiplier is applied on top. Displayed APY in the widget updates whenever block reward data changes. The Calculator tab lets you model exact TRX and USD returns for any amount, plan, and time horizon.
Yes. You can open multiple staking positions under the same wallet address — for example, a flexible position for liquidity and a 365-day position for maximum yield simultaneously. Each position is tracked independently in the Rewards dashboard with its own lock expiry, accrued rewards, and APY. This lets you ladder your TRX staking across different horizons for a balanced risk-return profile.
Key risks include: (1) Market risk — TRX price can decline during the lock period, reducing the USD value of your stake and rewards; (2) Smart contract risk — although contracts are audited, no code is 100% bug-free; (3) Network risk — TRON network upgrades or forks could temporarily affect reward distribution; (4) APY variability — yield rates adjust with block reward changes and total pool size. All these risks are disclosed transparently and should be weighed before committing to a long lock period.
TRON Stake 2.0 is the upgraded native staking mechanism introduced by the TRON Foundation (TIP-541), which allows TRX holders to freeze tokens without a fixed 3-day lock and to delegate Energy or Bandwidth to any other address without transferring ownership. It gives more flexibility in managing resources and voting. Staking TRON's smart contract layer is built on top of Stake 2.0 primitives to offer yield-optimized pooled staking with better APY than raw native freezing.
Tax treatment of staking rewards varies significantly by jurisdiction. In many countries, staking rewards are treated as ordinary income at the time of receipt, with any subsequent gain or loss on disposal taxed as capital gain. Staking TRON does not provide tax advice — consult a qualified tax professional or crypto-specialist accountant in your country before staking large amounts or if you are uncertain about your reporting obligations.
You can buy TRX on any major centralized exchange — Binance, Coinbase, OKX, Kraken, Bybit, and others all support TRX. Once purchased, withdraw TRX to your TronLink wallet address (TRX addresses start with T). After the network transfer confirms (usually under 30 seconds), visit staking-tron.com, connect your wallet, choose a staking plan, and start earning. Make sure you keep at least 10–20 TRX in your wallet for Energy/Bandwidth fees.
TRON's DPoS consensus with 27 Super Representatives provides very high network uptime — the TRON mainnet has maintained over 99.9% availability historically. In the extremely unlikely event of a network halt, reward accrual pauses and resumes automatically when the network recovers. Your principal is unaffected because it sits in an on-chain smart contract that requires the network itself to be live to modify. No action is needed on your part during a brief network pause.
You can independently verify your staking position at any time on TRON Scan (tronscan.org). Search for your wallet address to see all TRX balances, frozen tokens, and smart contract interactions. The Staking TRON contract address is published in the platform's documentation — copy it into TRON Scan to inspect all stakers and the contract's full on-chain state, confirming your position without relying on our frontend.

STRX Swap
Questions Answered

Everything you need to know about STRX, STRX Swap, staking, bridging and earning on TRON.

STRX Swap is a full-suite DeFi protocol built on the TRON blockchain. It combines token swapping, liquid staking, cross-chain bridging, liquidity provision, and on-chain credit into a single non-custodial interface centered around the STRX token. No account or KYC is required — just connect your TRON-compatible wallet.
STRX is a TRC20 utility and governance token native to the TRON blockchain. It powers the STRX Swap protocol — used for staking rewards, liquidity incentives, governance voting, fee discounts, and as collateral for on-chain credit lines. STRX can be bought, sold, staked, and bridged across 30+ chains.
Connect your TronLink wallet using the "Connect Wallet" button. Select STRX as the input or output token, choose your desired pair (e.g., STRX/USDT or STRX/TRX), review the quoted rate, and click "Swap Now". Confirm the transaction in TronLink and your swapped tokens arrive in under 3 seconds thanks to TRON's fast finality.
Navigate to the Staking tab in the STRX Swap widget, connect your TronLink wallet, enter the amount of STRX you wish to stake, and confirm the transaction. You immediately begin earning STRX staking rewards at up to 18.5% APY, paid continuously and claimable at any time.
The STRX staking APY varies based on total staked supply, protocol fee revenue, and reward emission schedules. Current rates reach up to 18.5% APY. The displayed rate in the Staking tab always reflects the live APY. Longer lock-up periods may unlock higher reward tiers.
STRX Swap offers both flexible and fixed-term STRX staking options. Flexible staking allows you to unstake STRX at any time with no penalties. Fixed-term staking (7, 30, or 90 days) locks your STRX for a higher APY boost. All staking operations are fully on-chain and non-custodial.
When you stake STRX, your tokens are deposited into an audited smart contract on the TRON blockchain. The contract allocates a share of all protocol swap fees and emission rewards to stakers proportional to their share of the staking pool. You receive a liquid staking receipt token representing your position, which can be used across STRX Swap's other DeFi modules.
STRX Swap supports TronLink (recommended for TRON-native STRX operations), MetaMask, Trust Wallet, WalletConnect (200+ wallets), Coinbase Wallet, Ledger, Trezor, and all major EVM-compatible wallets. For STRX staking and TRON-chain swaps, TronLink provides the most seamless experience.
STRX Swap charges a protocol fee starting at 0.01% of swap value. TRON network gas fees are extremely cheap — often under $0.01 per STRX transaction. STRX token holders benefit from an additional fee discount. All fees are fully transparent and displayed in the swap quote before confirmation.
STRX Swap's routing engine simultaneously queries 500+ DEX liquidity pools — including SunSwap, JustSwap, Uniswap, PancakeSwap, Curve and many more — and uses a pathfinding algorithm to optimally split your STRX order across multiple pools, minimizing price impact. Quotes update every 5 seconds for live accuracy.
Yes. The Bridge tab in STRX Swap allows you to move STRX and other TRC20 tokens to and from 30+ networks including Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism and more. Cross-chain bridging uses atomic protocols — your tokens are secured throughout the entire journey and the operation completes in a single user action.
STRX to TRON-native transfers settle in under 3 seconds. Cross-chain STRX bridges to Ethereum typically take 5–15 minutes depending on Ethereum block confirmation times. Bridges to BNB Chain, Polygon, and Arbitrum usually complete in 2–5 minutes. All bridge statuses are tracked live in the interface.
By depositing STRX and a paired asset (such as USDT or TRX) into a STRX Swap liquidity pool, you become a liquidity provider (LP). Every swap that uses your pool generates a fee, a portion of which goes directly to you. STRX LP tokens represent your share and can also be staked for additional STRX rewards.
Yes. STRX Swap is fully non-custodial — your STRX and other tokens never leave your wallet until a swap executes atomically. All STRX Swap smart contracts are audited by leading security firms. MEV protection shields all STRX swaps from front-running bots. If a swap cannot complete, your STRX is automatically returned to your wallet.
MEV (Maximal Extractable Value) bots monitor public mempools to front-run swap transactions, forcing you to pay more. STRX Swap routes all STRX swap transactions through private mempool relays so bots cannot see or intercept them. This typically saves $15–$80 per large STRX trade and guarantees you the quoted rate.
No. STRX Swap is a fully decentralized, non-custodial protocol. No account registration, email address, identity verification or KYC of any kind is required. Simply connect your compatible wallet and you have immediate access to all STRX swap, staking, bridge, pool, and credit features.
STRX Credit is an on-chain borrowing feature that lets you use your staked STRX as collateral to borrow stablecoins (USDT TRC20 or others). You retain exposure to STRX price appreciation while accessing immediate liquidity. Interest rates are competitive and all STRX Credit positions are managed via transparent smart contracts with no third-party custody.
STRX staking rewards come from two sources: a share of all STRX Swap protocol trading fees (distributed proportionally to stakers), and STRX emission rewards from the protocol treasury. Flexible stakers earn the base rate; fixed-term STRX stakers unlock multipliers of up to 2x depending on lock duration.
Yes. STRX Swap's liquidity mining program distributes additional STRX tokens to liquidity providers in incentivized pools. The STRX/USDT and STRX/TRX pools typically carry the highest STRX reward allocations. LP rewards compound on top of the trading fee income you earn from every swap.
Slippage is the maximum acceptable difference between your quoted price and the executed price. For STRX/USDT swaps (stablecoin pairs), 0.1%–0.5% is typically sufficient. For STRX/TRX or volatile pairs, 0.5%–1% is recommended. STRX Swap's "Auto" mode dynamically sets slippage based on the pair's historical volatility for the safest default experience.
STRX tokens can be purchased directly on STRX Swap by swapping any supported token (TRX, USDT TRC20, ETH, BNB, etc.) for STRX. STRX is also listed on centralized and decentralized exchanges that support TRC20 tokens. STRX Swap always offers competitive rates with MEV protection for STRX purchases.
To unstake STRX, go to the Staking tab, connect your wallet, and select "Unstake." For flexible STRX staking, your tokens are returned immediately with no penalty. For fixed-term STRX staking, you can unstake early (with a small penalty) or wait until the lock period expires to receive the full reward and principal.
STRX Swap supports all major TRC20 tokens on TRON, including STRX, TRX, USDT TRC20, USDC TRC20, BTT, JST, SUN, WIN, NFT, and hundreds more. The token list is community-curated and new TRC20 tokens can be added via governance. For cross-chain swaps, native tokens from 30+ networks are also supported.
Yes. STRX is the native governance token of STRX Swap. Staked STRX holders receive voting power proportional to their staked balance. Governance proposals can modify protocol parameters, add new liquidity pools, adjust STRX reward emissions, and control treasury funds. All governance votes are on-chain and fully transparent.
Yes, like all AMM-based liquidity pools, STRX liquidity providers are exposed to impermanent loss if the price ratio of STRX and the paired token diverges significantly. STRX Swap mitigates this through concentrated liquidity features, STRX liquidity mining rewards, and LP fee income which can offset impermanent loss over time, especially in high-volume STRX pairs.
Yes. STRX Swap is fully responsive and works on mobile browsers. For the best mobile experience swapping or staking STRX on TRON, use the TronLink mobile app's built-in browser to connect seamlessly. Trust Wallet and MetaMask mobile browsers are also compatible for cross-chain STRX operations.
STRX staking rewards accrue continuously in real-time on-chain. You can claim accumulated STRX rewards at any time from the Staking tab with a single transaction. Claimed STRX is sent directly to your wallet. You can also choose to auto-compound, reinvesting your STRX rewards back into staking automatically.
The official STRX token is a TRC20 token deployed on the TRON blockchain. Always verify the contract address from the official STRX Swap documentation or trusted sources like CoinMarketCap before interacting with any contract. STRX Swap will always display the verified STRX token in the official token list within the interface.
STRX staking involves depositing STRX alone into the staking contract to earn protocol rewards — no price exposure to a paired asset, no impermanent loss risk. STRX liquidity provision involves depositing STRX paired with another token (e.g., USDT) into an AMM pool to earn trading fees and liquidity mining rewards, but with impermanent loss exposure. Both are valid strategies depending on your STRX risk preference.
STRX Swap operates through a set of immutable and audited TRC20 smart contracts on the TRON blockchain. When you swap STRX, a router contract queries on-chain liquidity, routes your tokens through the optimal path, and atomically settles the trade in a single transaction. No intermediary holds your funds at any point. All contract code is publicly verifiable on TronScan.
Yes. Through STRX Swap's bridge module, wrapped versions of STRX are available on multiple EVM chains including Ethereum and BNB Chain. You can swap any token on those chains for bridged STRX and then bridge it back to TRON for full native STRX functionality including staking and credit.
If a STRX swap fails for any reason — slippage exceeded, insufficient liquidity, or network issues — the transaction reverts automatically at the smart contract level. Your STRX and all other tokens are returned to your wallet in full. You only pay the TRON network gas fee for the failed transaction, which is typically under $0.01.
Yes. STRX token holders and stakers receive tiered protocol fee discounts on all STRX Swap operations. The more STRX you hold or stake, the lower your swap fees. Staked STRX holders at higher tiers can achieve near-zero protocol fees, making STRX Swap one of the most cost-efficient DEX platforms in the TRON ecosystem.
Yes. All STRX Swap smart contracts — including the swap router, staking contracts, liquidity pool contracts, bridge contracts, and credit module — have been audited by independent blockchain security firms. Full audit reports are publicly available in the STRX Swap documentation. Security audits are conducted regularly with each major protocol upgrade.
To participate in STRX Swap governance, stake your STRX tokens to receive voting power. Browse active governance proposals on the STRX Swap governance portal, cast your vote, and track outcomes on-chain. Community members can also submit new proposals if they hold a minimum threshold of staked STRX. All governance actions are transparent, on-chain, and immutable.
